The purpose of this module is to provide an overview of protection system fundamentals.
Please note, this is a non-accredited course and upon successful completion, learners will receive a Certificate of Completion – Protection Fundamentals.
In this course, participants will develop the skills and knowledge as stipulated in the following:
- The effects short circuits and overloads have on a system
- The primary purpose of a protection relay
- Support systems a protection relay requires
- The meaning of speed, reliability, and selectivity in protection systems
- The meaning of ‘protection zones’
